Weigh-In Wednesday!

Well, its here again... a little soon... EEP!

Welp, Weight last week was 153.6

Weight this morning was:

151 even!

3.6 pounds down!

Im happy about that!

on another happy note...

Im officially OUT of my maternity Jeans and BACK into my real jeans!

I know I'm a little... delayed in getting out of those mat jeans... but seriously? They are the most comfy pants ever! I was in them by like, 8 weeks and it took me a year to get them off.

So?

I have to admit I am a little sad to be retiring those jeans... they have been worn to pieces...
literally...the button fell off of them the day before I retired them.

on another ANOTHER note.

Im keeping this short... today I have a tired, cranky baby who clearly, doesn't want to play with me.

Next week... 140's here I come!

How much is that Easton in the Window?

I had an amazing day with this guy.

We put him in his puppy hat

Snapped some pictures

before he grows out of it...

(Which will be like, one day - This kid is a weed!)

Then headed off to baby lap time at the Library!

If I can work it out with his naps, Easton LOVES baby lap time.

Mom's bring their kiddo's between 0 and 1 year
and a leader sits up at the front of a big round mat and recites poems and songs
parents sit their babies on their laps (or the floor) and just...

PLAY!

Its fun to play peekaboo and use shakers to get his attention, read colorful books and just spend some time with Easton outside of the house.

Like I said before, Im not a social person by nature... I don't think its that im shy... I think its a little bit of anxiety, and a little bit being out of practice.

Im really good at being on my own.
Im hardly ever lonely.

Heck, I backpacked across South America by myself!

I could probably stay in my house and watch TV and bake and play with Easy all day....

But for his sake...

And so I stop doing things like THIS to bug him, because I'm a little bored...

We should probably get out more.

So dear World:

Im working on it.

Sunday Fun-Day (HA!)

Sunday up until today has been a great experience.
Wake up later than normal, get ready (looking fabulous, of course) and go to church
Take your time sitting and enjoy the meeting to its full extent... then go home and nap all afternoon.

Even when Easton was first born, he was an angel, generally sleeping all through the first meeting, and only waking to feed, but NEVER fussing.

Hm, what happened to that?

Easton has put himself of a nap schedule where he wakes up at about 5, then naps from 6 to about
10 am.

Thats great - until you have church at 9 am.

Easy has been waking up the last few days at 2 am (putting him back on a 3 hour eating schedule... Sleep regression anyone? *more on that another time*)

We decided this morning to try the "keep him awake until we leave" approach

EPIC. FAIL.

We walked into church with a crying baby... left the meeting a total of three times, once to warm up a bottle in the sink because the kitchen was locked (It took 10 minutes to make it a tepid bottle)... and the rest to walk around because OUR crying baby... only settles when he is being walked around.

We went to primary with a fussy baby, who remained fussy in T's arms while I taught 4 year olds, who are HILARIOUS to teach. one little boy stated very plainly:

"your baby cries a lot. my baby cries a lot too"

.Sigh.

We left church with a crying baby.

When we got home it took 20 minutes to settle our overtired baby enough to sleep.

and then... WE SLEPT TOO.

What a sunday.

We will have to figure out something different for Sunday's.

Ideas anyone? Does the "wake him up from his nap and take him to church" approach work better??

Sunda - Funday!

The Great Misadventure Of The Jolly Jumper

In the last week or so, E has been kicking his legs like MAD... and pressing his legs against us so we help him stand against our laps.

SO, I decided it was time.

I was SOOOOO excited to go buy a Jolly Jumper for the Wiggle-Monster!

Being in our condo, I was happy when I was able to find a JJ that was on a stand, and didn't have to be set up in a door-Frame!

As soon as T got home, he set it up...

And we put him in!

And then we waited...

ummmmm....

Nothing really happened.

Easton would just look around a little... touching his feet carefully to the floor.

Eventually we gave up and put him to bed.

How anticlimactic!

I was heartbroken.... (dramatic... I know)

So early this morning, I tried again.

Same results... with a little more fussing.

I took him out... and being the persistent mother that I am...

tried again a few hours later.

This kid doesn't want to kick his legs while he's in this thing!

He is definitely not impressed by it.

So I folded it up... and put it away for a couple more days.

We will stick with the play mat for now.

I really don't want to be one of THOSE moms...

(Wooden spoon and all!)

We will wait until he starts playing sports for that ;)

Things We Do When Its Raining.

Things we Do when its Raining:

Drink Tea!

Stay in our PJ's aaaalll Day

And Can I just say for a second... I HATE buttons on sleepers...

Like, who is the genius who decided to put 12 BUTTONS on something that has to be worn by the human equivilant of a WORM?

A sticky, squirmy mess! (Just sort-of kidding)

anyways, rant over... I just try and stick to sleepers with zippers.

Baby - Wearing!

We love our Baby K'tan - We just switched from the backwards facing-to forward facing position... now That Easy has a little more neck control.

Either that or his chin is just doing a fabulous job of keeping his head up... Seriously tho... Those CHINS? (I die!)

We make fun drinks

(Home-made Lemonade!)

Well... Okay, it was the juice form a whole lemon and splenda... sue me.

Its hard enough keeping myself entertained on a good day... I think as this monkey gets older it could get a little more difficult to find things to do that he would have fun doing.

But for now were having a great time!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Starting Weight ( From last Weigh-In Wednesday):

156.7

Current Weight:

153.6

Down 3.1 Pounds!

Its been really hard to get out running this last (RAINY) week.
and working out at home can be... well, weird!

I have tried to do videos, or workout routines from say, pinterest... but working out on the same carpet that you lay around on, beside the same couch that you would LOVE to be sitting on...well... sucks.

I miss the gym!

There is something empowering about being surrounded by weights and machines and endless possibilities to enhance your body.

I'm getting a membership at a local gym pretty quick here... but for now I just pray for less-rainy weather!!

Easy and I are getting cabin fever!

One thing I found that could be  great or very damaging thing, is going to the mall and mall-walking!

I went to run some errands last week and turned on my GPS just to see how much walking I did, and I burned over 300 calories! (and got some cute tops!)

hmm, I guess my wallet is getting lighter too!

I would love to lose at least 2lb by next Weigh In!

The Easy Chair *nom nom nom*

I love to cuddle my baby

But, unfortunately, I don't think he likes me cuddling him as much.

He squirms and kicks and wiggles...

So we have found a new feeding style...

"The Easy Chair"

He lays back with his head on my lap, usually holding a toy... and chows down.

It pretty nice for me though... I can surf TV, or make silly faces at him while he looks out the corner of his eye.

Then when its time for a burp... we just sit him up and

 let er' rip!

"The Easy rider" makes me look silly sometimes... I see these mammas holding their baby's close while they nurse lovingly and it makes me a little sad that I don't breast-feed.

HOWEVER

I don't feel that the relationship that I have with my son has changed one bit. feeding your baby is feeding your baby. some people will say that without that "skin to skin" contact, your relationship isn't as strong with your baby.

I'd say we get along fine.

.Run.

I HAVE to start running again today.

Like, Right now.

See - besides the fact that I want to slim down and tone up...

There is this race....

Its just a 5k...

and a 5k used to be a warm up for me!

See, one time I ran this marathon?

It was in Ireland

I finished in just over 2 hours...

It was really hard! (Proven by the gross picture of the blood blister I got from running it...

Sorry Team.
When I was done with that stupid marathon
I SWORE up and down I would never run one again.

My amazing sister has run like, a zillion since then...

I just cant do it. I don't think my body is meant for running really. my hips and knees rebel against me. I spent most of the year that I was training for that marathon, writhing in pain on a physiotherapists table.

But, I regress...

I had the best body of my LIFE when I was running.

But since even BEFORE this guy

I have had some trouble getting it back.

it is just 5k.... right?

So it begins again.

this time with a stroller...

Hi Daddy! - My Father's Day Gift.

I was SO excited for Taylor's first fathers day this year.

I had someone to help me put a gift together!

SO... Here it is!

we put these pictures into a book and gave it to daddy this morning for Father's Day. I did omit one little scandalous picture of Easton telling daddy that he is glad he changes his poopy diapers ;)

T is a greater daddy than I could have ever hoped for or imagined.

Easy loves him.

They have bonded over a few hockey games already, Easy has peed on him, and sits and chats with him forever.

This is the start of a great Father-Son relationship.

We love you daddy!
