Tummy…Thursday and my little animal.

OH HEY GUYS!

Thought I was gonna miss this week, didn't ya?

I do admit, once I get back to work, i'll probably slow down on the full on photo shoots with my one year old…. how depressing to type out loud.

Im 16.. almost 17 weeks!

Feeling so far so good. We get find out what it is on April 9th at my next scan! I can't wait! surprisingly I've been feeling little flutters already. I guess it surprised me because with my last pregnancy, I had an anterior placenta (my placenta was in the front instead of the back) and I didn't feel Easy kick until he was 23-24 weeks! its a welcomed change… I like knowing that something is going on in there.

___________

While taking some random shots over the last few days
I have noticed that my son has, um, LOTS of expressions.

The most famous, on this blog anyways… is the blank stare pictured in the bottom right… but we have been getting the other 3 more and more, especially that sour little face in the bottom left ha ha… it KILLS me!

and to keep up with the hair chronicles of Easton, He went from brunette, to bald to blonde to…

MULLET?

As you can see in the pictures above, he is definitely business in the front, receding hairline and everything! - but the back is a different story.

and

I.LOVE.IT.

It flicks and curls and is totally wild, just like my busy boy.

He really is a handful. I frequently refer to him as "the animal"

In a loving way… of course…

My back is definitely sore from chasing this one around and wrangling him before he kills himself.

But we have fun. He's a loving, smart little boy.. and will make an amazing big brother.

Anyone wonder why my hair is always up? I swear, I'm thinking about cutting it off!

Tummy Tuesday: Wednesday Edition.

Oops. Sorry team.

I would like to say I forgot about tummy tuesday… but the truth is, I decided to go swimming with Easy instead of doing my makeup and taking pictures.

That will however, explain my hair today.

Today marks 15 weeks for Baby #2!

Im definitely feeling a lot more… FAT "bellylicious?"

I feel like it has something to do with the fact that I was so scared of my stomach after I had a baby, that I didn't work it out… at all.

I remember asking my doctor why it was taking me so long to show with Easton, she told me it was because my tummy was strong and resting the bulge. I felt okay about that!

For those of you who haven't had a baby yet… right after you have the baby your stomach muscles are still separated and your tummy literally feels like mush. It terrified me! I felt like if someone had punched me in the stomach, it would be like a cartoon, and their fist would just… Disappear, and they would never get it back!

So sit ups took a back seat… probably for longer than they should have. and I'm paying with a larger than life belly with a nice little layer of baby#1 fat. I don't mind tho.. People know I'm pregnant at this point… right?

______________

Easy and I are enjoying our last few weeks being exclusive before I go back to work.

With the weather warming up, We started going on stroller walks!

It occurred to me once we got out there, that my little baby boy is quite the walker now! Once we got onto a safe path, I let him go! Our walk took about 45 minutes longer than it probably needed to… but we had a blast. He's such a little BOY.

But I really wouldn't have him any other way.

I love his big blue eyes, his curly mullet, his little bum and everything in between!

He's my little boy through and through. and in about a month we find out if he gets a brother or sister!

My Friday Five Favourite Pins Of The Week.

I thought I would let you all know what a,axing finds I got out of PINTEREST this week:

1. THIS amazing nighttime drink.
Photo not mine.

I have had this literally every night this week. mmmm.

Its basically just milk, honey, vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. My only changes were I did it stovetop and whisked the cinnamon in as it warmed (after choking on dry cinnamon sprinkled on top.)

2. THIS daily odd compliment.

I love this because I literally lived in sweatpants this week AND I have a really great Hubs.

3. THIS baking soda bread thats in the oven right now.

Photo not mine.
I REALLY wanted to try to make bread today. I don't have a bread maker and upon even further research, my yeast is expired… (makes sense… I've never used it… its been years.) so I just threw this in the oven. it has a potato in it! weird right? Im really interested to see how this loaf turns out in… oh, 30 minutes! ps - it was sooo fast and easy to make.

4. THIS because… duh.

and finally

5. THIS BLOG of a lady who literally tries everything on pinterest and usually fails at them.

Well, that was fun.

What are some of your favourite pins?

Tummy Tuesday and Stay At Home Dad.

TUMMY TUESDAY!

Tomorrow I'm 14 weeks!

feeling pretty good all-in all. tired from lack of sleep with the sick Easy man…

And this bump is GROWING! (which I think is tiring my body out a lil')

*insert shameless tummy selfies HERE:

(Im also very proud of the fact that I showered today… this is a win only some will understand…)

Ive really found myself wanting more fruits and veggies right now,  a huge salad with basically everything from my fridge in it is a winner. Don't let that fool you tho, I'm sure I've gained weight. I'm so sure of this fact, that I've been avoiding the scale all together. who needs that stress anyways?

Im trying to mentally and emotionally prepare myself for a few things right now.

Going back to work April 1
And
My big guy turning 1 on the 31st!

BUT

Both of those things are really hard to think about, so I really, um… haven't been. which has brought back a bit of an insomnia bout…. you know how that goes with me. hopefully its not a long one.

Besides the month of april, Easy basically gets to spend the summer with his dad who is on a school break, while I work during the day. As sad as it is for me, its basically the best scenario I could ever have dreamt up. Tay gets a glimpse into my days as a SAHM, Easy can get his daddy fix because he's obsessed with him, I can be fat and sit in a chair all day at a desk and not chase a 1 year old around when I'm 6-7-8-9 months pregnant…and I get paid well and get mat leave again (assuming all goes well)

It will be a good summer.

I just need to get my mind around missing my BFF all day during the week.

At least its only for a few months.

Vomit.

Vomit.
High fever
And the saddest cry I have ever heard.

Looks like I'll be sleeping in the chair in the nursery with a warm baby on me. Honestly, our leather lazy-boy was the best purchase of the whole nursery. It's withstood pee, puke, tears, formula, poop and everything else a baby can throw at things. And it's so. Comfortable.

It's been a rough couple of days at our household. Easy and I were out for lunch yesterday and he decided to headbutt the table... With his mouth. We are left with this sharp little left tooth. It makes when he bites you that much more painful!

Then last night we woke to a feverish baby. With his ear infection history, we thought it might have been that again.
As his temperature climbed, I got more worried.

My crazy jungle boy was a lap dog today. I was happy to rest for a while, but it broke my heart to see him so sick.
His fever kept climbing this afternoon, so I took him in to my doctors office. I was sent home with no answers, not an ear infection, just a nasty virus. I left with a big "good luck"

Sigh. I never thought I would want to switch places with someone sick. I would if I could.

My Experience With Milk Donation and A Big Fat Pregnancy Update.

SO

First things first.

A few months ago, we Switched Easy to a high calorie formula.

Along with some other reasons, I felt that it was something else to try, to increase his weight gain.

This left me with LOTS of Breast Milk in my freezer..

1,038 oz to be exact.

I contacted my local Milk donation bank, to see what I could do…

I was stopped mid-process and advised that they couldn't not take my milk, as I took the prescription domperidome to help with milk production. I was told that is has shown to sometimes lower blood sugar in premature babies, and most of the babies they worked with, were preemies.

Understandable.

I knew that this medication wasn't dangerous, I had been feeding it to my baby almost his whole life, and the woman who declined my application to donate at the Co-Op agreed, it is a safe medication, just not ideal for preemies.

I was a mess for a few days thinking I would literally have to dump gallons of milk down my sink.

When I came across the HM4HB site.

"Human milk for human babies" has a chapter in just about every province and city. It is essentially a gateway for women who need milk and want to donate milk, to get together. I gathered my blood work and advised the site that I was a healthy donor who had taken Dom.

Within one week, I delivered my milk to the mother of an older baby not too far away.

I was thrilled to help someone AND not feel like I was wasting 7 months of torture service.

In other news

This little buddy got its picture taken yesterday!

Measuring at 12 weeks 4 days - it has 2 arms and 2 legs and apparently likes to have its hand on its face!

It only seemed appropriate to take a picture of this little guy,  too.

All in all I'm feeling pretty good.

Nausea comes and goes but is a reassuring sign that this guy is growing.

I am an emotional pregnant lady.

I was last time, and I am this time.

commercials make me cry.

If I see a stranger cry, I cry.

Its incredible!

oh,

And I am also HUGE.

I gained about 10 pounds the month we got pregnant, Its always been a thing for me, (*GIRL STUFF WARNING*) when I cycle, I gain about 10 pounds, then when I get my period, I lose it all. Super frustrating. especially when your period never comes.

ha ha so I started this pregnancy about 10 pounds above my regular post baby weight, and since then I have put on about 2 pounds believe it or not. I have had a few people comment on how I already look like I did when I was 6 months pregnant last time.

Gee. Thanks.

But seriously, I pride myself on loving pregnancy. every barf,  every pound. I tried to work out once in the beginning, like I had before I got pregnant and The next day I was spotting and had to go in for an emergency ultrasound. everything was good, but I decided that me and my "irritable cervix" will just have to keep our thunder thighs at a minimum by playing with Easy and doing lots of walking.

It doesn't mean I don't want to be healthy or that I won't complain at all… But I want to enjoy every second of this pregnancy. You really don't know if its your last. It sounds silly, but be real… it happens. I bet in about 6 months I'm going to be crying every day like I was last time because he/she won't GET OUT! -  But from the moment I birthed Easy, I missed having him in my tummy. I wanted to be pregnant again within a few weeks (HA). I'm glad its worked out the way it has.

Me and my busy boy are enjoying every second we have one-on-one.

Big Easy is going to be a BIG BROTHER!

On Christmas Morning

We all woke up to a happy baby Easton

I pulled out a gift and told T to help Easy open it before the excitement of the day began

We chatted for a few minutes while Easy tugged at the paper

Eventually, T helped him pull the paper apart.

It was a shirt! all folded up.

He told easton how lucky he was, A new shirt for Christmas!

as he unfolded the shirt

he froze

Looked at me with saucer eyes…

And broke into happy tears.

We got

The BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER.

Now, 10 weeks and one healthy ultrasound later

We are expecting a new brother or sister for Big Brother Easy!

Right now the due date is September 4th.

I really didn't believe that you show faster with your second…

but after all the early bloating subsided

Im left with this!

How fun! I'm pretty sure I didn't get this big until I was almost 6 months last time!

Also, in other good news,

I was REALLY sick… from the second I hit 5 weeks. I got on the meds and prepared for the 24 week haul of morning sickness I had with Easy… Even my meds didn't help last time

But sometime this week, I really stopped being nauseous!

Im not putting my money down on it all being over yet… but Im SO HAPPY to be feeling good. I was starting to feel bad for Easy plopped into his high chair with cheerios outside of the bathroom every morning.

I honestly can't WAIT for this little baby.

And I can't wait to share the whole experience with anyone who cares to read about it!
