Weigh-In-Wednesday - Burpees Don't Really Like You Either.

I was up at 3 am this morning.

not because my baby was...

I laid awake after sleeping about an hour and being woken up.

Listening to the busy street behind my house

Angry out of lack of sleep and nervous for my sleeping baby,

I pulled myself out of bed

And yelled angrier words than I should use, at some neighborhood kids who were playing nicky nicky nine dorrs across the street and shouting while they wrestled and did whatever kids do these days.

 (insert old lady voice here)

But really... 3am!?

when they ran in different directions I got up

Pumped.
(anyone surprised here?)

And tried to go back to sleep.

Why am I saying this?

Well, there needs to be an explanation for my hair in this weeks WIW Photos...

Weight last week:

151.3

Weight this week:

149.6

Down 1.7  Pounds!

Phew!

Welcome back to the 140's!

At my first doctors appointment when I found out I was expecting
I weighed in at 142 (4 weeks pregnant)

So technically I am pretty close to my pre preg weight!

But my ultimate goal is a "cut 130"
So im a little further from that...  But I can dream right?

I got a gym membership late last week, and on Monday I started working out again!

I decided to start a weight training program 3 days a week

And if I had time, do cardio the other days.

my weight training is based on muscle groups:

Monday's - Back and biceps
Wednesday's - Chest and Triceps
Saturday - Legs

My weight training days include a bit of cardio

And every day I do some ab's and full body exercises

(I hate burpees more than life itself)

It feels amazing to be back in a gym.

And I think easton enjoys coming with me and going to child minding to chill in this chair with the nice young lady's there

(and sleep for the whole time he's there... what a party animal)

I am yet to leave the section of the gym closed off just for women to work out in...
I used to love being out with the boys, pumping iron!

Right now I just find a corner
And hate life a little.

But nobody ever really regrets a workout do they?
I go home and eat better, I clean, I make lists, im just more efficient!
I think this is the beginning of a great relationship!

Drip Drip Drip...

Its raining outside.

Pouring, actually.

And surprisingly, I dont have much to talk about today.

Moody? a little.

Rain really gets to me sometimes.

So i'll just post these pictures of Easton trying to eat me.

He has just learned the "hand to mouth" reflex
Often punching himself in the mouth in the process.

nom nom nom.

Drip Drip Drip

Sigh.

I Took My Breast Pump To A Wedding...

Tonight, I took my breast-pump to a wedding and, instead of dancing... I snuck into the bathroom to pump milk.

I have 680 ounces of breast milk on my deck in a deep freeze.

I have a "lactation station" sitting on my kitchen table beside my computer.

I have written down how much milk has been pumped by me and consumed by my son every single day since he was 2 weeks old.

I recently came home from a trip out of town with a cooler filled with ice and breast milk, so that I could freeze it instead of dumping it.

For support, I am part of a group on facebook, dedicated to moms who exclusively pump.

I know how long a bottle of breast milk can sit on the counter(4 hours), be in the fridge (4 days), or sit in a freezer (depends on the freezer - but 3 months to a year!).

I wash and dry 8 milk containers, 2 bottles and the parts to my pump twice a day. EVERY DAY.

I bag breast milk, in 6 ounce bags every night and neatly store them in freezer bags before logging them in my notebook.

I feel good because I am able to give my son the best food for him right now...

but I am exhausted.

I dont know how long I can keep this up. The last 3 months have been long.

My goal is to pump 2000 ounces.

yes.

2000.

That should be enough for me to roughly stop in 3-4 months, and be able to feed my baby breast milk until he is over a year old.

I am blessed with a great supply.

but sometimes I feel like im crazy for letting this consume my life!

what do you think? is 2000 too ambitious?

¿Dónde está el baño?

I mentioned this before, but I have spent a lot of time in South America.

I learned spanish like a little kids learned spanish

By listening and mimicking the people around me.

I learned phases like;

Hablar más despacio, por favor

(speak slower, please!)

or

¿Cómo se dice

(how do you say...?)

or a very popular one...

¿Dónde está el baño?

(Where is the bathroom??)

I successfully navigated my way around 7 countries in South America, speaking almost no english.

But since I have been back home, about 5 years now

my language skills have slowly slipped away.

So 2 days ago, when Easton and I went to the library to escape the heat, I ended up leaving with some new language disks to brush up on my spanish!

I have been having a great time practicing the 20-30 minutes a day I spend driving to pick up T from work.

Im really excited about it, but I need to practice!

hm, maybe a trip to mexico is in order?

to practice... of course.

*sigh*

Weigh-In Wednesday

Weigh-In Wednesday!

okay so last week was a bit of a disappointment when my gain of about 3 pounds left me at 154.1
a ways away from my goal of being in the 140's again.

Last Week: 154.1

This Week: 151.3

Down 2.8 pounds.

Okay... back on track!

This little monkey has been keeping me busy!

he loves to "stand" and be looking everywhere lately, which makes it hard to get anything done!

Good thing I love him.

I went into my local gym today and got a membership..

Now I just need to find the perfect work out "program"

I am very familiar with the gym, I know the classes, the exercises, the form.

but with my "new body" Im a little intimidated with where to start.

I used to just do cardio... lots and lots of cardio and no weights... but with my new little "wings" on my arms and my big thunder thighs, I think I need to change it up.

What do you do at the gym?

I need structure when I go to the gym, as with most things in my life lately...

I left my notebook at my in-laws house last week and have been losing my mind the last 3 days until I got it back. (my notebook has my "to do list" as well as tracking all my pumps and feedings for Easton)

Im TOTALLY a bit mental sometimes.

I guess I feel like if I don't have structure in my life, I cant do anything.

Its like my diet

If im not eating right and tracking every calorie...

I might as well eat cookies all day.

I cant just clean out one shelf on my fridge a day or something

Clean the entire fridge for an hour... or leave the moldy food in there for another week.

If im going to clean the house... I CLEAN.THE.HOUSE.

I need to lighten up a little A LOT.

(easier said than done!)

Easton wont always be an amazing napper, leaving me time to clean like mad or cross everything off my list every day or... well.. BLOG!

But i'll enjoy it while I get it!!

See you next week WIW... hopefully in the 140's!

I had another wonderful adventure this weekend.

I went with all my sisters (except one... Sarah was in Italy!) to LES MIS!

I have been a fan of this show since I was a little girl. my parents always were playing the music, or taking the older kids to the musical every time it was in town.
personally, this was the first time I went to see the live show.

and it .made.my.life.

and of course, a girls night was amazing too :)

We met up with my great sister-in-laws for dinner, but before we left we had to take some pictures!
